This is the twentieth vid I've made! In the same fandom as the first one, appropriately enough.

Another remake of a vid that was sorely in need of it! I only have eight more to go now. (Hey, it used to be ten. I'm making progress.)

Going over it again actually settled a lot of my negative lingering feelings about the source material - turns out I still have a lot of positive emotions about these two and their dorktastic adventures.

This was a very 'method' vid for me. A week out from the Premieres deadline, I had all the clips and no song. Forty-eight hours before the deadline, I decided the song I had wasn't working and remade the entire thing. Then I had a problem with the audio file and my mother turned up at the last possible minute with the CD I needed. (I have never thought of my mum as Dick Gumshoe before, but if the trench coat fits ...)

Through the whole process, I consoled myself with the knowledge that this is EXACTLY how Phoenix Wright would go about making a vid. And I am never doing that again.

Ultimately, though, I think it turned out fun *g*.

Back at the start of the year, my website disappeared from the internet - and when it went, it took all my uploaded vids with it.

This was my own silly fault for not realising that I hadn't given the people I rented my domain name from my new e-mail and credit card details since my last renewal. As a result, I had to go get a new domain. The silver lining here is that I now have blueshades.net, which is the domain I wanted back when I first got my own site! It wasn't available then, but I guess I'm not the only one who let her registration lapse.

Anyway, at some point I will probably put most of the contents of my website back up there. However, the only parts anyone noticed were gone were the vids *g*. Those are all back up now, although I haven't fixed links in old posts.

What I have done is made a vid index post which is now available on Dreamwidth and stuck to the top of my journal here. All fourteen of my completed vids are available from there.

Warning: The vid below is not yet in its final form. If you're allergic to aspect ratio issues, you may want to wait and come back later. It is, however, a vast improvement over the version that's been available online for four years, which is why I'm posting it now *g*.

So, remember when I said I needed girl-on-girl scenes for a new vid? I was lying a little so I could surprise people with this. I've spent the past couple of weeks remastering my vid All I Want For Christmas, and this is the provisional result. I added a lot of new clips. (Including some of girls kissing ...) There are still a few technical issues I need to iron out before I call it finalized. In some cases I didn't have the original source for the clips, and in other cases I've reached the limits on my knowledge of aspect ratio. (Australian DVDs: finding ever more exciting ways to make life difficult for vidders!)

If I may be permitted to get emotional in honour of the season: not only are we nearly at the end of the first decade of the twenty-first century, in a couple of months I will celebrate my first decade in fandom. Ten years ago, none of you knew me, although I knew a few of you from my time spent lurking. Now I don't know what I'd do without you.

This is a vid about love - the love the characters have for each other, and the love I have for them, and the love I have for fandom and the people in it. Here's to another decade together, yes?
