Fringe has been an odd fandom for me. I've never blogged about it much or produced any fanfic or vids, but I started watching the day the pilot episode leaked and I haven't missed an episode in the five seasons that followed. For all that there have been things about the last couple of seasons that annoyed me, and for all that I understand why I lot of people stopped watching, I've never regretted the investment.
Whatever happens in the finale, the thing I first fell in love with was The Walter Bishop And His Mostly Off-Screen Science Boyfriends Show, and wow, I think that The Boy Must Live was the BEST EPISODE EVER of that.
You see, all season when they've talked about the mysterious Donald I've been thinking 'it is nice that Walter found a new guy, given how his thing with William Bell ended up!' And I do not think that the show could have yanked my strings any better than it did when it revealed that September named himself after Donald O'Connor because Walter showed him Singin' in the Rain on their first date. It is appropriate that his last Science Boyfriend is the guy who started all the trouble by pulling him and Peter out of that lake.
(Another thing I've legitimately loved about this season is Walter's ongoing reaction to Bell's final betrayal. Especially his horror when I realises that Belly stole his records. I mean, siding with the Observers is one thing, but a man's David Bowie collection is sacred.)
... and I think I actually want to write a story about September and Walter watching Singin' in the Rain. Which must be an awfully confusing movie when you have probably never watched a movie before. Possibly even more confusing than This Human Thing You Call Kissing.

I shall try! Right after this thing I'm working on for Porn Battle XIV, and that B5 genderswap thing, and ... well, rest assured it is going on the pile. And since Singin' in the Rain is one of my favourite films of all time, I should feel motivated to do the research.
