Now that I am back home and sort of mostly caught up with my life, a meme.
Give me a show/movie/fandom and I'll tell you:
my favourite female character
my favourite male character
my favourite book/season/etc
my favourite episode (if it's a tv show)
my favourite cast member
my favourite relationship
a character I'd die defending
a character I just can't sympathize with
a character I grew to love
my anti otp

Date: 2013-06-07 03:06 pm (UTC)my favourite male character: Oh, like I need to answer this *g*. Charles. Forever.
my favourite episode (if it's a tv show): First Class. For all its imperfections, it's the one that makes me feel like it was made for me.
my favourite cast member: Well, it has to be Patrick Stewart. Not that Ian McKellen is any less awesome.
my favourite relationship: Charles/Erik. (I am so predictable!)
a character I'd die defending: ... if by 'die' we mean 'spend many, many hours having stupid internet arguments over' then this is obviously Charles again. *has flashbacks to the Magneto Mailing List*
a character I just can't sympathize with: Shaw. Robert Kelly and even Stryker had their moments of humanity, but Shaw never shows any redeeming features on screen.
a character I grew to love: Mystique. I didn't particularly like what they did with her in X1, but in X2 and (especially) in First Class she gets a lot more development and I became attached.
my anti otp: I don't think I have one. I have read a lot in this fandom, and have concluded that a good writer can convince me of just about anything.

Date: 2013-06-07 03:16 pm (UTC)my favourite male character: I am slightly torn on this one, but I think it has to be Blake.
my favourite book/season/etc: Season Two.
my favourite episode (if it's a tv show): If I have to pick just one, Blake. One of the best series finales ever. (Even if they didn't mean it that way.)
my favourite cast member: I haven't met any of them, but I have heard nothing but nice things about Gareth Thomas. (And, if we're including guest stars, Colin Baker.)
my favourite relationship: Blake/Avon. Because my idea of an OTP is two people who argue about politics and then try to kill each other. (Although this is one of the rare cases where one half has actually succeeded and made it stick. As far as we know.)
a character I'd die defending: I don't know about 'die', but I have certainly had the odd argument about Blake and Star One.
a character I just can't sympathize with: Tarrant. Ugh.
a character I grew to love: Vila. Eternally in the wrong place at the wrong time. (Not that the rest of the cast isn't, but Vila even more so.)
my anti otp: I don't think I have one. Well, maybe Tarrant/Vila, if anybody actually 'shipped that. (I like to think Vila has better self-esteem than that. At least he and Avon are sort of friends when Avon's not planning to shove him out of an airlock.)

Date: 2013-06-07 03:35 pm (UTC)my favourite male character: How can I possibly choose between Jack and Sloane?
my favourite book/season/etc: Season Two. Spy Family Drama FTW.
my favourite episode (if it's a tv show): I think it has to be Breaking Point. For the whole 'let's rescue Sydney!' plot, the bullet, and the look on Syd's face when she sees who's in the helicopter *g*. Also Passage for Spy Family hijinks. And The Box, which was when I first really got attached to Sloane.
my favourite cast member: Without having met any of these people, I can say I find the cast utterly charming. Especially how Victor Garber is friends with Ron Rifkin and still really close to Jennifer Garner. They are all adorable.
my favourite relationship: If we're talking romantic relationships, I'm going to have to cheat a bit and go with the OT3 Irina/Jack/Sloane option. If we're talking relationships in general, Jack & Sydney were the emotional centre of the show. (And of course I can't neglect Sloane and Sydney's relationship, however you define it.)
a character I'd die defending: I am pretty sure all these people are badass enough to defend themselves.
a character I just can't sympathize with: Of the regulars and recurring cast, only Lauren really springs to mind.
a character I grew to love: Sloane, for sure. I liked Jack and Irina as soon as I encountered them, but Sloane grew on me slowly.
my anti otp: A rare fandom where I actually had a few of these. Sydney/Stark, because I can't believe she'd be interested. Sydney/Vaughan when it got really tedious in Season Three, although it recovered a bit later on. Jack/Vaughan because WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?
